From the Terra di Lavoro Intendancy fonds (Intendenza di Terra di Lavoro) - 1811
Topographic map of the district of Traetto, now Minturno, consisting of various mills and small centres such as Castelforte, Spigno, and Suio, whose thermal baths are indicated a little further down on the Garigliano River. At the foot of the hill, the ancient Minturnae theater, and beyond, the Gulf of Gaeta.
The map is attached to the "statistics of the district of Traetto," where, among other information, it is stated: "Internal trade is easy due to the quality of the drivable roads, which connect to the Royal Road from Rome to Naples. Therefore, the population trades profitably in the weekly markets of neighbouring towns and in the markets held in the city every Sunday, where, throughout the year, there are two very populous fairs, one on the day of St. James, July 25, and the other on St. Lucia, December 13”.
